This evening forms the fruitful collision between the radical improvisations of Wat hier is, the minimalist piano pieces by Luka Schuurman and the performative language of Sifra Coulet. At the end of this evening, these three acts will merge into one super band.

Sifra Coulet

Sifra experiences, thinks and works from the concept of construction. She sees language as our most impressive construct. The written and spoken word is the only constant medium in her work to date. Besides that she works with drawing, video, sculpture and installation.

Luka Schuurman

Luka makes a variety of music, from cinematic soundscapes with his group De Ervaring and rhythmic improvisations with bicycles to experimental drone with seven snare drummers. He has composed a series of pieces for piano, inspired by Philip Glass. He will play these, and pieces by Glass himself.

In our performances we create soundscapes on the spot, from environmental sounds and a guitar. Because we don't know in advance what these sounds will be, those improvisations are always radically new. Sometimes dreamy, sometimes brutal noise, then again harmonic compositions.
